  • The new schedule is up! 
Yes, I have added as many new classes as possible to meet your requests.  Please check out www.hipcooks.com to see details and sign up for class.  There are holes in the schedule so I can accomodate your requests for particular classess, and your requests for private classes.  A fun way to spend an evening with friends!  For more details on privates, go to www.hipcooks.com, click on "classes" and then "private classes" from the pull-down menu.

Ah, yeah!  Stressed out about what to cook for Thanksgiving?  Want to bring a gorgeous side dish or dessert but need a new twist?  Check out
I Ain't No Turkey
In this class we stuff individual Cornish Game Hens with an apricot cous cous stuffing and make Pumpkin Souflee for dessert.  Zoinks!

Cocktails 2:  Holidaze Want to throw the perfect holiday party? Look no further! This class continues where Cocktails 1 left off to offer you more fun and exciting drinks, perfect for the holiday season and festive nibbles to match

Holiday Elves:  Cookies, peppermint bark, truffles and other confections to put you in the holiday spirit.

  • Hipcooks Gift Certificates  A cute card for Hipcooks classes is available for purchase on the website.  A lovely, fun, and different sort of present.  The gift of food that keeps on giving!  Check it at www.hipcooks.com, click on "classes" and then "gift certificates" from the pull-down menu.
  • Recipe of the month.  You may recognize this one - a hit!  People used it with their Thanksgiving meals, over ice cream, and straight with a spoon. 
Cranberry sauce with fresh ginger and orange
3/4 lb fresh cranberries - available in packets at all supermarkets these days
1 cup orange juice
3/4 cup  brown sugar
2 teaspoons (about 1 inch) grated fresh ginger - use your microplane!

2 teaspoons orange zest
In a saucepan, combine all ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer gently for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cranberries will make a delightful popping sound as they open up and mixture will thicken.
  • All the new classes have openings for teaching assistants, so of you are on that email list, keep your eyes open for an email from me!  If you are not on the list and want to be, let me know.  Basically, if you have taken a couple of classes here already and are interested in the assistantship program, send me an email for details with "teaching assistant" in the subject line.
